Policies

Check-in is 3 PM. Check-out at 11 AM. Please notify the Front Desk if you will be arriving after 9 PM.

Children under 12 by prior arrangement only.

Lost room keys will incur a $75 fee. If a key is found after departure and mailed back to the inn, the credit card charged will be refunded (once the key is received).

High season weekends, holidays and special events have 2 or 3 night minimum stay requirements.

 

Outside Liquor and Wine is only permitted in your guest room. If you wish to enjoy a drink in one of our parlors or outside in the garden (and by the pool), beverages must be purchased through our tavern. 

 

Our Marblehead hotel’s small size means cancellations affect us significantly. For any cancellation or change of dates, we must receive 14 days’ notice prior to your confirmed arrival for a refund of your deposit. For cancellations received less than 14 days before check-in, regardless of the reason, your deposit will be non-refundable. You are always welcome to send a friend or family member in your place. If a change of date is requested within 14 days, your deposit will only be transferable to the new dates IF we are able to recover income loss for the original confirmed dates. Early departures are treated as partial cancellations.

A $30 processing fee per accommodation is charged on all cancellations/ date changes and is deducted from all refunds. Group bookings (3 or more rooms) are subject to a 30 day cancellation period. Long Term Rentals are subject to a 60 day cancellation period.

Our main purpose in collecting your personal information is to provide you with a streamlined experience in making reservations at Harbor Light Inn. We only collect information about you that we consider necessary for achieving this. Personally identifiable information is only obtained when making a reservation. All identifiable information provided will not be disclosed to anyone unless we are specifically requested to do so. Harbor Light Inn does not give or sell to anyone any information we collect on our site.
We sometimes use data collection devices such as “cookies” on certain pages of the Site to measure effectiveness and safety. A “cookie” is a small file that gets placed on your hard drive that helps us provide our services. You are free to decline cookies if you choose too.

Security
At Harbor Light Inn, we take security seriously. When users make a reservation we use every precaution to safe guard it online and offline.
Your payment and personal information is always safe. Our Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) software is the industry standard and encrypts all of your personal information, including credit card number, name, and address, so that it cannot be read over the internet.

Accessibility Policy

Harbor Light Inn warmly welcomes all guests. However, due to the historic significance of our 18th-century seacoast Inn, the property is not wheelchair accessible. Removal of necessary physical barriers for accessibility is not readily achievable as such removal would threaten or destroy the historic significance of the property. These barriers and features include:

  • The entrance to our inn requires maneuvering 3 steps.
  • We cannot add a ramp to the entrance and we do not have an elevator in the inn.
  • For those with only limited mobility who do not require the use of a wheelchair, Rooms #2 and #7 are located on the first floor. Both of these rooms require the guest to maneuver a few steps to the entrance. They offer a walk-in shower which cannot accommodate a wheelchair.
  • All bathrooms offer grab bars and a shower seat is available upon request.
  • Narrow Hallways and doorways are not wheelchair accessible

We work to ensure every guest who wishes to visit can do so regardless of their physical abilities. Among the ways we comply with ADA:

  • We ensure that individuals with disabilities can make reservations during the same hours and in the same manner as individuals without disabilities.
  • We have identified and described inaccessible features in our bed and breakfast and guest rooms in detail to allow individuals with disabilities to determine whether our property meets their needs.
  • Guests with legitimate service animals as defined in the ADA are provided access to all areas of the inn afforded to those without service animals
